Make space in your calendars for this magnificent event in Paris, 15-16th of January 2026!
This conference aims to bring together researchers, artists, and practitioners who wish to engage in dialogue with Rosi Braidotti’s project.
The conference is structured around three thematic axes. Your presentation may fall under one or more of these areas:
Axis 1 : Nomadism and becoming.
Rosi Braidotti has redefined the interaction of the “social” with the “corporeal”, to account for the contemporary production of bodies and subjectivities. What is at stake in her materialist approach is not the definition of subjects solely in reference to the impact of social structures or linguistic codes, but rather of understanding embodiments through the technological and bio-genetic dimensions that constitute them. How can the figurations of the nomadic subject in Braidotti’s thought be mobilized to engage in alternative forms of subjectivity that are worthy of the present and the political, epistemological, and existential challenges it poses?
Axis 2 : Posthumanism, ethics, and politics.
How can we re-think the relationship between humans and non-humans in the age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the Sixth Extinction? As Braidotti puts it : “We Are In This Together, But We Are Not One and The Same.” How, then, can ‘we’ generate new perspectives and new forms of action in the neoliberal political context?
Axis 3 : Representation, resistance, and speculative imagination.
How do Braidotti’s key notions, from the experiences of nomadic subjectivities, to the posthuman redefined by the current historical moment, help us generate new social imaginaries? What shall we do to produce resources and reserves of affirmative imaginaries? What role do literary, artistic, musical, media, and translation practices play as the breeding ground for such imaginaries ? Let them rhizome, not reason!
This gathering aims primarily to create an «intergenerational» meeting place, which will prioritize contemporary re-readings, revivals and extensions of Rosi Braidotti’s thought. Presentations will follow the standard academic convention of spoken papers, but may also adopt more experimental formats.
Deadline for submissions : September 30, 2025
