Statens konstråd (Public Art Agency Sweden) together with Akademiska Hus and Linköping University have commissioned artist Amanda Selinder for the public art and redesign of “Corson”, the connective pathway of Campus Valla, Linköping University. The Posthumanities Hub and the Department of TEMA at LiU are very proud to host Amanda Selinder for the creative period from now until finalization in 2026.
Amanda Selinder (b.1990 in Tranås) is trained in textile art and the fine arts. In her artistic practice, Amanda explores living processes. Some of the organisms she seeks to learn with are slime mold, bacterial biofilm, decomposer fungi and various plants. A recurring theme in the art of Amanda and her organisms, are their ability to produce and absorb pigments.
We are so proud to welcome Amanda to the Posthumanities Hub as artist in residence and as co-researcher with the Department of Tema and (Tema Genus) Gender Studies!
Amanda Selinder’s recent work in science labs, cultivating mycelium and algae, plants and bacteria in petri dishes and other media to explore processes of pigmentation, have rendered her a special place in the Swedish eco- and bio art scene. Biodiversity in a location and relational sustainability are leitmotifs in many of her previous projects, see here: https://amandaselinder.com/projects
