Olga Cielemęcka is a researcher at the Unit of Gender Studies, Department of Thematic Studies, Linköping University in Sweden; a Deputy Director of the postconventional humanities research platform “Posthumanities Hub” (in years 2016-2017); and a co-chair of a working group on new materialisms and politics of European Cooperation in Science and Technology Action “New Materialism: Networking the European Scholarship on ‘How Matter Comes to Matter’.”
With a PhD in philosophy from Warsaw University in Poland, in my research I bring together contemporary philosophy, feminist and queer theory, and environmental humanities, in an effort to re-think the concepts of the subject, community, and collaboration in the times of advanced capitalism and environmental change. I was a research assistant at Wirth Institute for Austrian and Central European Studies at University of Alberta in Canada, a visiting researcher at the Institute for Cultural Inquiry (ICON), Utrecht University and at Posthumanism Research Institute at Brock University, and a postdoctoral researcher within “The Seed Box: A Mistra-Formas Environmental Humanities Collaboratory,” a research project hosted at Linköping University in Sweden. With my recent project, I look from feminist perspectives at political and cultural meanings of plants.
