Evelien Geerts (Ph.D., University of California, Santa Cruz, USA) is a Lecturer in Gender, Women’s Studies & Philosophy and the Program Director of the Women’s Studies MA & PhD at University College Cork, Ireland. They are also an Affiliated Researcher at the Posthumanities Hub and the Eco- and Bioart Lab (Linköping University, Sweden) and an Associate of the Posthumanism Research Institute (Brock University, Canada). Working as an interdisciplinary philosopher, Geerts’ work is located at the intersections of European Continental political & feminist philosophy, queer/ing critical theory, and the environmental posthumanities. Their work more specifically focuses on the somatechnics of political violence, (post-)pandemic extremism and memes, critical new materialisms, and theorizing in (post-)Anthropocenic crisis times.
