• 6 February – Ass. Prof. Tania Pérez-Bustos (Columbia) 10:15-12:00, in Forum Library – presents her work-in-progress: “Embodying a caring science: an ethnographic analysis of the communicative practices of a Colombian trans-woman scientist in online media”. Abstract below:
  “In this research I analyze the case of Brigitte Baptiste a trans woman scientist who is the director of the National Institute of Biodiversity in Colombia. I understand her public presence in the media as matters of care in technoscience. I borrow this concept from Maria Puig dela Bellacasa, and her work (mainly philosophical) on Haraway. I would locate my research within a feminist anthropology of science and technology which focuses on public communication of science practices (so far) embodied by women scientists in their diversity.”
• Proposal submitted to MISTRA-FORMAS for an Environmental Humanities Collaboratory, including 6 Swedish and 7 international universities! The Posthumanities Hub did this together with Green Critical Forum (Gender Studies and Environmental Studies at TEMA, LiU). We warmly thank everybody for their efforts!
• Good news! Four year EU-funding (COST Action) for our new materialist network to organize conferences, meetings, workshops across Europe with our Australian collaborators. The next conference will take place in Barcelona around mid september 2014!

• Posthumanities International Network (PIN): We are very happy to recently have received network funding from Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (The Swedish Research Council for Humanities and Social Sciences) and its working group Technology, Institution, Change! This will enable international-Swedish interdisciplinary humanities hosted at Linköping University, Utrecht University, Warwick University, and Goldsmith’s University of London, and its growing effort to rework the role of the humanities and their relation to science, technology and contemporary society on the basis that our idea of the human is fundamentally reaching its limits and changing.
