Here at the Posthumanities Hub, we have been absolutely thrilled to host our dear friend, Professor Myra J. Hird, here in Linköping, as she receives her Honorary Doctorate at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Linköping University.
Myra is Professor, FRSC & Stephen J.R. Smith Chair in Engineering for Humanity at Queen’s University, Canada. As well as a long-term collaborator with the Hub, she is also a leading scholar in feminist science and technology studies, environmental sociology and the study of waste. Appointed Honorary Doctor of Arts and Sciences at Linköping University in 2026, she has long been an inspiring interlocutor of nonhuman feminisms, posthumanities and environmental humanities. Her work on the politics of waste, toxicity, and environmental responsibility resonates deeply with The Posthumanities Hub’s commitment to critical, creative and socially engaged research across the arts and sciences. We are so proud!
