What gets to count as natural, as human, as animal? Such questions drive the inquiries of the Posthumanities Hub, a postconventional research group practicing advanced cultural critique and some seriously humorous feminist creativity. The Hub is a platform for enacting, networking, and hosting research in postdisciplinary arts and sciences. We believe that such postdisciplinarity requires radical new forms of more-than-human humanities.

We are rethinking the humanities as in conversation with the natural sciences, technology, and contemporary societal needs. To us, posthumanities starts where the imagined divide between nature and culture collapses. We define our work specifically as feminist posthumanities by attending to human and more-than-human inequities and social injustices, as well as by our collaborative scholarly practices and working through an ethics of conviviality that extends into our various projects. Our research builds on and contributes to environmental humanities, digital or techno-humanities, human animal studies, eco- and bio art, empirical philosophy, and various forms of eco/cultural studies of science, technology, medicine, and embodiment. We address, in our research, various pressing societal challenges. Curiously, creatively, and critically.

The projects and the scholars of the Hub have received funding from: European Research Council (ERC);  Swedish Research Council (VR);  Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development (Formas); The Swedish Foundation for Strategic Environmental Research (MISTRA); Swedish Foundation for Humanities and Social Sciences (RJ); Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC);  Joint Committee for Nordic Research Councils in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NOS HS); Linköping University; and Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (KTH).
